The Dream Project started in 2018 with a dream of feeding and discipling 50 kids in Cuba. We began partnering with Nueva Vida Church, our strategic missions partner in Havana. Over the following years, the Dream Project has grown to approximately 700 kids and 300 youth participlating in our discipleship program. We believe that through the Dream Project, kids and youth will become the future leaders, missionaries, church planters and nation changers in Cuba!

In 2017, in partnership with surge.org, Encounter Church helped fund 4 church plants in Cuba. Pastor Hunter had the privilege of traveling to Cuba to deliver chuch planting funds, and on this first trip, he met the leaders who would end up becoming God's strategic partners.

In 2018, on a trip to deliver funds, God spoke to Pastor Liz about reaching kids with the Gospel through a Happy Birthday Jesus party. In December, on the inaugural Christmas in Cuba trip, the first Happy Birthday Jesus Party was done for 50 kids.

In 2019, we began planning how to grow this Christmas party into a full force discipleship program - to feed kids, share the Gospel of Jesus, and train them into disciples. That December, 175 kids came to the Happy Birthday Jesus party - marking the beginning of Sueño de Niños.

In 2020, the world shut down, but the impact didn't. Despite the challenges of the global pandemic, the local church continued to grow Sueño de Niños ON THER OWN.

In 2022, travel was reinstated, and we took a small mission team in December to continue the Christmas in Cuba tradition. To our surprise, the Dream Project hadn't only been sustained; it had grown!

In 2024, Sueño de Niños launched its official 2nd location, now reaching over 700 kids. Due to the previous years of work, they now needed something for older kids - and Jovenes Vida was born with 300 youth coming to there first ever meeting!
